Job Vacancy: General Manager

Based: Teddington

Salary: £40,000 (50,000 FTE)

4 days a week

River Thames Boat Project is looking for a hands-on and strategic leader to steer us in delivering access to the river for those who need it most. We operate two accessible community boats, Thames Venturer and Thames Discoverer, providing day and residential cruises for people of all ages with disabilities and older people, as well as education days for primary school children and youth groups.

This is an exciting role. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the General Manager will be responsible for a team of three staff – a Skipper/Boat Manager, Office Manager and Education Coordinator. We also have a wonderful group of over 70 volunteers who make our work possible and in 2021 we were proud to receive the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

We are seeking a committed and capable leader who has the ability to operate at all levels and with a wide variety of stakeholders. The ability to work collaboratively with a small team is essential. Ideally the candidate will have experience of the charity sector and charity fundraising.
