Volunteer with us

Volunteers are at the heart of what we do. We encourage committed volunteers of all ages (from 16 up) and all capabilities to apply. Our volunteers are supported with inductions and annual refresher training. Because of the nature of our work, potential volunteers are interviewed for suitability, asked for references and may be expected to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Our peak operating hours are 9-5, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend activities. We are only able to provide training during peak hours so we need volunteers who are available during at least part of the peak hours.

We have some great opportunities for you to get involved in. We’re keen to hear from people who may be interested in the following roles:

• Crewing and skippering
• Delivering and supporting our educational programmes – background in teaching useful but not essential
• Fundraising and events
• Admin and marketing
• Catering and cooking for our day trips and at events
