Friends of River Thames Boat Project

A great way to support us is to become a Friend. Join a community of like-minded people that care about nature, connection, and bringing the joy of our riverways to those who need it most.

Why become a Friend?

Our Friends hear all of the latest news about the charity first, as well as invitations to our RTBP community events too.

  • Quarterly digital newsletter providing updates on the charity, the people involved with it and updates on the Friends’ activities.
  • Invitations to our charity community events: Spring quiz, Bangers & Fireworks evening, Christmas Carols & Mince Pies, and more.
  • Discount on boat cruise hire. Friends can enjoy the same subsidised rates as our charitable client groups.

Making your donation go even further with Gift Aid

Increase your donation by 25% at no extra cost to you by declaring Gift Aid.

All money raised for the charity is invaluable. But Friends’ subscriptions and donations carry extra weight as they are eligible for Gift Aid.

The support of the Friends is a vital part of our grant funding income stream. When considering grant requests, big funders pay close attention to the money charities are able to raise directly. Every penny counts.

The Friends produce a quarterly newsletter (edited by Kate Oatham and supported by her production team). If you are a subscribed Friend you should automatically receive this – please let us know of any problems. And please feel free to forward it to anyone who you think might be interested in hearing about the work of the charity.

When first launched it was predicted we would soon run out of news and interesting articles – actually our real problem has been to make it too long!

If you have any feedback, questions or suggestions for the team, please contact Kate on info@thamesboatproject.org.
