Fundraising events and activities for the diary:

August

Summer break for schools.

Thames Venturer goes into dry dock for repairs, cleaning and painting.  If you have any time to help, please contact Peter: peter@thamesboatproject.org

The cruise calendar is busy with lots of groups enjoying days on the river onboard Thames Discoverer.

September

Sunday 15th September 2019 – Richmond Running Festival – half and full marathons

We will be running a water station to raise money for the Boat Project.  Volunteer to hand out water to the thirsty runners or join the race and raise money for the Boat Project.  You can check details of the race here: https://www.richmondrunfest.co.uk/events/richmond-marathon/

Wednesday 18th September 2019 – Volunteers’ Forum

An opportunity to get together for updates on the Boat Project and to share news and views.  Venue TBC. 7.30 – 9pm.

Thursday 19th September 2019 – Linking People Afloat Cruise

These special day cruises are for individuals who are not supported by a group, to come by themselves or with a carer or companion.  It’s a safe and caring environment with just 12 passengers and a chance to meet new people and share experiences.  The day runs from 10am to 4.30pm, is £36 per person and includes a social lunch in the saloon, and tea, coffee and biscuits.  Please contact Pippa to book: 020 8940 3509 or info@thamesboatproject.org

Sunday 29th September 2019 – River Thames Boat Project Thames Bridge Walking Challenge

Save the date for our 2nd big fundraising event for our 30 years’ celebrations.  Walkers, fundraisers and helpers needed.  More details to follow.

November 2019 – Bangers & Fireworks evening

Our very popular fundraising event onboard Thames Venturer. Venue and timings TBC.

December 2019 – Volunteer Christmas supper

Venue and timings TBC.

December 2019 – Santa Sleigh collection with the Rotary Club of Teddington and The Hamptons

Date TBC.  Volunteers needed to accompany Santa and help raise funds for local charities.
