9th September 2017 – Walton Heritage Day – Open Day
Thames Venturer, built in 1908. Come on board in the afternoon and explore the boat. No entry charge. Passenger lift for those who are less mobile, using a wheelchair or with buggies. Great fun day out for all the family. Crafty ideas and children’s games on board. Homemade cakes, tea/coffee on deck or below (or takeaway). December 2017- Christmas Collection outside Bentalls Kingston
Details to follow. Lots of volunteers needed for this event. Donate just an hour. Father Christmas outfits, bells, elf hats optional and encouraged, but not necessary, just bring a smile. Last year’s Rotary Newsletter & pictures.
16th July 2017 – Boat Open Day
Open boat, no entry fee, chat to crew members and educational volunteers. Serving refreshments and homemade cakes both indoors and on deck. On sale a range of crafts and goods, river books and the launch of the new colouring book. Childrens Games – Treasure Hunt Map, Roll the Dice, Splat the Ship’s Rat. Fantastic Raffle prize donated by Le Boat. Statistics: £650 fundraised, 271 visitors on board. In Canbury Gardens on the same day was the Kingston Rotary Club Dragon Boat Race. We were their chosen charity for 2017.
June 2017 – Volunteer Fair Richmond
Awareness table at Richmond Adult Community College. Raising lots of awareness.
June 2017 – Art Auction
Charlie Ross, celebrity antiques expert and well known Auctioneer auctioned the late Desmond Jones, artworks at Richmond College. His family held the auction for local charities. RTBP Lot Number 1, “Sirens” .
June 2017 – Friends’ Evening Cruises
Gorgeous long summer evenings cruising upriver from the mooring in Kingston to Hampton Court for Friends and their guests. £45 pp including welcome cocktail, food and drinks.
March 2017 – Kew Rotary Quiz Night
A great team of six RTBP crew and partners attended this event and came 7th in the Quiz, (only a few points difference between 7th and 1st!). We were chosen as one of the three beneficiary charities by Kew Rotary and we were awarded £580. Thank you Kew Rotary. Date for your diary: next year is 9/3/18.
February 2017– Hampton Court Half Marathon
Crew member, Mike Mendelson’s ran the Hampton Court Half Marathon and other volunteers manned the official Dockside Water Station. Raising £600+ gift aid = £683
February 2017- Ealing SEND
RTBP awareness table at the Ealing Parent Carer Forum for Families, Ealing Town Hall, 24th February. For families that include children and young people with disabilities and special educational needs.
