Final instalment of dry dock news by Peter Oldham

The final few days of dry dock are always like a rush to the finish line but I’m pleased to say we made it and Venturer returned to her home mooring on Monday under grey skies and a bitter breeze.

With the priorities of inspecting /painting the hull, and replacement of the rudder skeg bearing complete, we shall spend the Winter completing maintenance and improvements that can be done afloat, all the while waiting for Spring or a period of warm settled weather when we can paint the decks and superstructure.

I would like to thank all the volunteers who came to the dock and braved the cold, the dirt , and the skipper to get all the work done  – great job !!

Welcome to our new website

Welcome to the new website of the River Thames Boat Project. We hope you will take some time to have a look around.
This website is our first step towards making our web resources easier to use and more functional for clients, volunteers and the general public.  It is a work in development and we hope you will contribute by giving us your feedback, telling us what you like to see and if there is any information or function missing for you.
That means we will continue to improve it – and will probably introduce another version before long.
Our goal is to make our website readable, simple to use and contemporary. Please accept our apologies if you find some former content of the old website has gone. If you think we are missing something important then do get in touch.
Thank you for reading and we hope you will come back and check out our regularly updated news and photographs.
