We did it! Our Bridge to Bridge walking challenge of 13.4 miles on Sunday 29th September was lots of fun and a great success. We had 28 walkers in total on the day with our youngest being 8 and our most senior, over 80. People joined at different stages along the way and we all finished very happily on Thames Discoverer at our mooring in Kingston. Thank you to John and Nigel for meeting people at Richmond, encouraging us to keep going and taking a team photo.
Although the weather forecast had been for lots of rain we were lucky on the day to stay mostly dry. The wettest moment was our group photo on Thames Venturer at Teddington Lock.
Special mentions go to Team Murray who had three generations of walkers (including teenagers!!!) and to the Stopgap team of Kate, Jackie, Lee and families.
Thank you to Tony, Lyn, Linda and Carole for the warm welcome on Thames Discoverer with tea and lots of delicious cakes. Thank you to Peter and Margaret for making a special trip to Kingston to greet us and hand deliver their sponsorship.
Thank you to everyone who has sponsored us so far. Currently we have raised £3,500 and there are still a few more donations coming through. Our fundraising contributes towards the cost of the days that we provide on the river for people of all ages with disabilities and elderly people as well as Primary School children. There is still time to donate by clicking here
Thank you everyone for your support. It is much appreciated.
