This week we held a twilight open boat for teachers, who were invited to come on board to see what we offer schools, meet us and ask any questions, as well as enjoy a glass of wine and some nibbles.
We were pleased to meet some new faces, despite the rain and nearby roadworks. Thanks to those who made it, and for those who didn’t we’ll surely hold the event again.
On board the Thames Venturer we offer ‘School on the River’, which involves learning about the geography of the river and how rivers develop, foraging on the foreshore and testing the water for cleanliness and temperature. We also offer ‘Eco-Venturers’, which includes experimenting with alternative energy, water-testing on a more inquiring level, and designing your own eco-boat.
As well, we have a lot of different activities that are available for bespoke education sessions, youth group sessions, alternative education organisations and those who want a bit of fun!
